At Baltic Creative CIC, our management team and board of directors are committed to creating an inclusive and collaborative culture.

This International Women’s Day, we want to celebrate the Women of Baltic Creative who work to keep this organisation moving in the right direction. We’re proud to have an inclusive Board, equal gender split across our Management Team and our first woman CEO, Lynn Haime. 

These women call out inequality and champion a fairer, more equitable environment. They work collectively with colleagues to ensure we’re representing the unique experiences and viewpoints of the communities we serve. As a team, we know that having varied perspectives helps generate better ideas!

Improving the diversity of our organisation is a continual process. DEI is permanently on our agenda and we’re constantly exploring new ways to achieve a more equitable environment.

Dr. Fiona Armstrong-Gibbs

Chair

Fiona is Programme Leader in Executive Education at LJMU and Chair of Baltic Creative. Her areas of interest include inclusive growth and innovation, gender and diversity, activism, and policy impact. Fiona works with One Day LCR to highlight the importance of evidence-based research broken down by gender and race. Fiona is the lead writer of One Day Today which called for greater representation and consideration of women’s economic contributions in the region. In response to this, the LCR Combined Authority announced their commitment to a Gender Panel in 2022.

Karen Beddow

Director

Karen is an eclectic mix of trustee, lawyer and director. She left her full time role as a commercial litigation solicitor to concentrate on her family travel blog. Karen used her professional skills to create and turn Mini Travellers into an established creative business, meaning she can spend more time with her three children. Karen is an advocate for equality, with an influential voice on our Board. She has continued her legal consultancy work, providing advice to Baltic Creative and professional services to commercial property organisations.

Lila Tamea

Director

Lila is Student Recruitment Officer at The College of Legal Practice, and the former President of LJMU’s Student Union. Throughout her career, she has been involved in initiatives surrounding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; more specifically race equality. Last year, Lila completed a Masters in Education with a dissertation on the Muslim Student Experience. She is a leading voice on our Board for EDI, using her lived experience and knowledge to provide recommendations and encourage us to do better.

Geraldine Achieng

Director

Geraldine is a Sales Development Representative with a background in PR. She co-founded events company DATWAYSEASONS to promote the Northwest, inspiring the creation of Black Empowerment digital platform: The Noire Review. Geraldine has worked with the Merseyside Youth Association, Women’s Health Information & Support Centre (WHISC) and Basement Advisory Centre to highlight employment and mental health issues. She is part of Liverpool City Council’s Race and Equality task force, campaigning to prioritise health, housing and employment.

Ngunan Adamu

Director

Ngunan is a journalist, broadcaster and project manager with experience gained across a wide range of BBC platforms. She is the founder and CEO of iWoman Media Ltd and iWoman Academy CIC – a peer to peer organisation set up to inspire women around the world. iWoman provides necessary resources to help women reach their goals. Their work inspires, educates and empowers women to find their voice. Ngunan brings her expertise as an entrepreneur and cultural change specialist to our Board, and is an advocate for diversity in the media.

Lynn Haime

Chief Executive Officer

Lynn has a wealth of experience in commercial property, having previously worked at Matthews & Goodman, MediaCity and Urban Splash. She now leads Baltic Creative as our first female CEO. In a sector traditionally dominated by men, Lynn has excelled as a property professional and expert in asset management. Despite experiencing challenges throughout her career, she remained determined and now empowers the team to aim high in their own.

Alex Christey-Kelly

Community & Partnerships Officer

Alex manages our partnerships and events. She is a community development pro with experience in managing creative businesses. She is passionate about women’s rights, particularly around childcare, and volunteers her time to lobby for diversity, inclusivity and equality. Alex was one of the original contributors to the One Day Strategy and has been an advocate for gender equity at Baltic Creative. Alex is currently on maternity leave following the birth of her daughter and will return to work later this year.

 

Becky Seaman

Communications & Admin Officer

Becky is our first point of contact for communications and marketing. She produces content for the website, social media and newsletters, to promote the businesses in our community. Becky is open-minded and passionate creating an inclusive environment here at Baltic Creative. She is currently keeping our events and partnerships ticking over, whilst Alex is on maternity leave, adding value and generating opportunities to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
