A new street art trail, Echoes and Waves, invites Baltic Triangle visitors to discover the history of Liverpool’s music scene and its role in shaping popular music around the world.

Baltic Triangle Area CIC organised the installation as part of Eurovision to recognise that we are all ‘United by Music’. Designed by Smiling Wolf, with support from Liverpool City Council, local artists installed the project on Baltic Creative shutters along Jamaica Street.

On each of the shutters are cryptic clues, which point towards well-known Liverpool artists. The bold graphics punctuate the street scene and add character to the area when businesses in our community are closed. Together they act as a trail which visitors can ‘solve’ while they walk along.

Future plans are for the installation to spread beyond Jamaica Street. The hope is it will complement the vibrant street art that already exists around the area.
