In partnership with local mental health charity, The Open Door Centre, Baltic Creative are hosting a Blue Monday drop-in day in The Shed on Monday 20th January between 9:00am – 5:00pm. This is part of our Health and Wellbeing initiative designed for you, our community.

On what is statistically the most depressing day of the year, The Open Door Centre will take to The Shed to create an immersive mindfulness and relaxation space, filled with mental well-being and resilience-building activities.

ODC will create an area physically removed from the every day so it can become a focused space promoting positive mental health – allowing you to have a bit of you time during your busy day. Working with artist Claire Henderson and Convenience Gallery, they will fabricate a playful space using plush work, arched structures and accompanying soundscapes.

As part of the day, ODC will deliver 3 x 20-minute Mindfulness sessions during the morning, lunch and afternoon break to hopefully fit around your work schedule. Each session will take place at 10:00am, 12:00noon and 3:00pm – just pop down to The Shed for these times to take part.

About ODC
Based in Birkenhead, ODC provides bespoke mental health support for people aged 15 to 30 who are dealing with panic attacks, stress and low mood. They make support available with regards to depression and anxiety in a way which is friendly, laid back, informal and the antitheses of the traditional medical, clinical, GP waiting room approach. They tackle stigmas, increase tolerance, inspire discussion and affiliate the dialogue around these issues with creative, artistic and musical circles rather than the medical, clinical domain.
