It’s been a challenging time for us and our mental health during lockdown. People have had to drastically adapt the way they operate their businesses, individuals have been furloughed and many have had to learn to juggle their work and family life at home – ultimately having a knock-on effect to our stress and anxiety levels.
So for our next Baltic Brew #4 and to follow on from Mental Health Awareness Week (#KindnessMatters), we’re inviting you to take a short snippet out of your day to have some well-earned headspace. We’ll be joined by our guest speaker, Transform Lives Company, who will be bringing us a bespoke mindfulness session with a twist!
- Chocolate Mindfulness with Lee Fishwick from Transform Lives Company
When did you last really taste what you’re eating? Have you ever sat still, turned off the distractions and really noticed how delicious chocolate is? Taking time to be quiet, focusing the mind and shutting out the world for a while is so beneficial to us, especially right now with so much going on… and what better way to do it than with chocolate!? So join us and find out what mindfulness really is, why it’s good for you and how you can incorporate it into your daily life. You will need chocolate of your choice at the ready (bar, biscuit, cake etc) and no sneaking pieces beforehand!
Lee Fishwick will be guiding us through a short mindfulness session. Lee leads on the wellbeing, coaching and training design for TLC and he’s a teacher, trainer and lecturer specialising in stress, anxiety and positive psychology.
- Robyn McGlinchey from Balance and Movement
Robyn is owner and qualified Pilates instructor at Balance and Movement and will talk about how you and our community can get involved with weekly Pilates sessions, and how she will be adapting her offering in the future to make it as accessible as possible for everyone.
- Mark Lawler, Managing Director at Baltic Creative CIC
Mark will be giving a brief update on Baltic Creative CIC, highlighting a little more about our community and what we are doing to keep our tenants safe in our workspaces.

Baltic Brew is Baltic Creative CIC’s quarterly tenant meet-up and during lockdown, we’re shaking things up and hosting them online via Zoom for anyone in our Creative and Digital network who wishes to join – Tenant or not. This event is password protected and the link and details to join will be circulated nearer the time. Once you’ve joined the event, only our guest speakers will be visible/audible but you will have chance to ask questions via the chat window.

Many thanks to Transform Lives Company
TLC think it’s a crying shame that there are still many people a long way from meaningful, fulfilling lives, with work or without. So they set about changing that.

Their developmental support really is life changing – whether it’s supporting people to find work, build confidence, manage stress or simply live a happier life, TLC start with kindness and the rest follows.
