Mia joined Baltic Creative in 2017 to help oversee and deliver our new 45,000sq/ft artist-led scheme Northern Lights. Curating and managing the day-to-day operations on site with the support of the Baltic Creative head office, Mia has ensured Northern Lights is fast becoming a venue of note for Arts, Events, Creativity and Music.
She provides operational support, co-ordinates ongoing works and liaises with tenants, neighbours, visitors and trades. Mia also looks after the Northern Lights social media accounts and communications, represents Baltic Creative in Cain’s Brewery Village and is laying the foundations for a public programme at Northern Lights from 2018.
Mia started her academic life in Sweden, studying History of Science and Ideas, Political Philosophy and History of Art and Architecture. Later she achieved a BA Hons and MPhil here in the UK. Having worked at the business start-up end of arts and hospitality for 20 years, she is highly experienced and passionate about cities, creativity and culture.
